Nakiri – ultralight blade for green work

The thin 2-millimeter blade cuts vegetables like a laser, and the 97 g weight means you work on the board longer and faster without hand fatigue. The straight edge and high wedge guarantee even dicing and thin slices, and the wa handle adds classic Japanese balance. If vegetables are your element – this is your tool.

Product Information

Nakiri – lightness and speed to vegetables

With a slim 2 mm thick blade and a weight of just 97 g, this nakiri goes into the product in no time and does not tire the hand even when chopping for long periods. The straight cutting edge and tall 46 mm blade give great control on the board, while the traditional wa handle provides natural “on blade” balance.

Key strengths

  • 2 mm thick – thin geometry, minimal resistance in carrots, onions or cabbage.

  • High 46 mm wedge – comfortable guidance on the board, fingers safely over the edge.

  • Lightweight 97 g – less fatigue when slicing and shredding for long periods.

  • Straight edge nakiri – perfect for “push-cut”, chopping and even slicing.

  • Wa handle – secure grip and classic Japanese balance.

Application

Vegetables and herbs: chopping, shredding, dicing/slicing.
Not for dicing, freezing or undermining.

Care

Hand wash, dry quickly. Store in a scabbard/leaf/block. Sharpen on water stones (e.g. #1000 → #3000/6000). Avoid dishwasher and roller sharpeners.

Translation of the engraving (kanji on the wedge)

The inscription 「特製」 can be seen. (tokusei) – “special product / specially made“.
